Hi, I’d like to learn the Castilian (Spain) Spanish online for free. I don’t like the BBC one or Livemocha because they don’t really teach the grammar and stuff… I don’t want a place where I can learn by means of learning phrases. I want to learn it right. I would an online course free. Thanks!

I would like to learn German language, but I’ve heard there are many books and courses that use redundant phrases and speech in general.

What program/book/course would you recommend that isn’t too expensive and has good phrase exercises. I would really like to speak German well and be able to communicate with German folks and not sound like some dude that fell out of year 1952.

BTWm I’m on beginners level.

I’m trying to learn a few languages: Hindi, Portuguese, Lithuanian, and Swahili. But I’m NOT interested in travelling. I don’t need to know phrases like: "My hotel room is too cold". I have searched all over the place, but I can’t find a good language course/website that doesn’t focus on travel. Please help me!

For someone who knows the Arabic alphabet, a few words and phrases…. How long would fluency take? And what Arabic-learning course would you suggest?
