I want to learn to make big money but I don’t know what courses to take, and I’m almost 30… Help please?

Author: I’m a walking mistake. From the day i was born till now, I’ve encountered a lot of hardship in my life. I’m try to make things better for myself, and I’ve decided that I need to know how to make money… and I need to know what sort of college courses should I take to learn about making money. I know there is marketing and finance and economics etc. and I didn’t learn any of those during my schooldays. Is it too late (almost 30) to be in college learning how to make big money? I have a dream of becoming an author but due to my below satisfactory written and spoken English, I need a more realistic job that I’m more capable of being successful in. I’ve started watching "Suze Orman" so that’s a start. Your suggestions and advice are very much appreciates. Thanks!

I agree with ronni.
College doesn’t teach you how to make money it teaches you how to learn more than anything else. The more narrowly focused your profession is the more money you will make. Look and the difference between an electrician and a handyman. If you know a lot about one thing you’ll get paid more for your knowledge than some one who knows a little bit about a lot of things.
My suggestion is to decide what you like to do and become an expert at that. Making a lot of money should not be your goal. Doing what you enjoy, should be and the money will come later. Don’t believe that when you graduate college you will automatically be given a high paying job. Today a college degree is what a high school degree was thirty years ago. Everyone has one. You’ll have to start at the bottom of the pay scale and work your way up over the years.
A college education will pay off though so I wouldn’t discourage you from getting one. I would suggest getting a degree in business. It’s a broad major and can be applied to any job you’ll apply for.

Why not learn a "hands on" trade such as welding-carpentry-electrician or plumbing? Evidently you seem to procrastinate too much and are wasting your life in in decisions. Pick something and learn it before IT IS too late!
Honestly, you’re not going to learn about making big money in any particular course (although you will get an introduction to playing the stock market in finance). You could go into a field of study that will later involve big paychecks (medical, business), but that’s really about all you’re going to get in college. Have you considered taking more English classes so you can get your writing skills up to par? You may not make as much, but you’ll be much happier if you can pursue your interests, believe me. (And I’ve read best selling novels with crappy writing, so it’s really the story that matters, anyway.) I gave up a potential career as an HR professional (Very good pay) to pursue my dream of being an artist, and I don’t regret it one bit.
And to your last question–it’s never too late to complete your education and improve your situation (nor is it ever too late to pursue your dreams). Best of luck, whatever you decide.
