Book is one of the best method of learning any thing. You should learn Java from a good book. Then use Internet to find solution of problems which you can’t solve or can’t understand from book. And to learn a language practice is must. So being asscociated with a training is a good idea, else you should find problems from net and solve them.
The best way to learn is from books while getting example from internet.
I’m not quite recommend training courses. If you are too lazy to learn it by urself, then you might consider training courses.
I would try online, then books, then training in that order (in order of expense). The key to learning a new programming language is practice. You need to write some programs.
