Free or cheap online music reading courses?

Author: I want to play acoustic guitar.
But i want to be able to read and write music. I didn’t know where to find an online course. Maybe it could just help me with the basics. If it was a legit source I might look into paying for something. Know of anything?

Really for the basics, the best place to start is with a good old fashioned chord chart. You can get on a book place like amazon.com and buy a beginner book – they always have them in the back, or you could probably type it into your local search engine and find it for free.
Then, find a friend or acquaintance who plays and ask them for advice on how to read it (or you can probably look that up too – probably even youtube videos, it wouldn’t surprise me). Once you have it and can read it BINGO! you know how to play guitar. the hard part is the practice it takes to make your fingers coordinate with each other.
